Although our researchers are already working in the frontline and are continuously reaching significant results, the planned developments help strengthening application specific research, which predicts an internationally measurable progress. We plan to initiate several new research projects in the field of autonomous vehicles. The choice of research topics was motivated by international trends and initiatives of industrial partners. The work will be realized in the form of continuous industrial projects and research collaborations.
One focus of the scientific research projects is the technology of autonomous vehicles, such as video based processing, environment detection and recognition, vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communication. Another important area is the research of the functions of autonomous vehicles, where driving assistant systems, highly automated driving functions and related vehicle architecture will be assessed.
We will launch several projects in the field of autonomous vehicle control, as data collection systems (signal and image processing, computer graphics and vision, 3D motion detection), data processing systems (sensor fusion, data mining), artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics and software technological methods. Furthermore we will be able to further expand our knowledge in the following research fields: sensor fusion, intelligent vision systems, modern simulation systems and control of mechanical systems.
Our past success will help us reach our future goals:
